Hey staff of the Greatest game of all time!
I was just wondering, but could I transfer my account to my stepson?
the reason I ask is I have very uncontrolled type 2 diabetes and am begining to have serious issues with it. Doctors are talking about me losing my feet soon and already my vision is leaving me. I might be good for a day or two, but I have other times where my vision is so bad due to my sugars I just cant see much of anything.
I was just wondering when I do lose my vision permanently,m can I give him my account?
thanks

I also have the same health issue. Can I transfer my account to someone else?
;) No, I’m just kidding. See how a transfer can be abused though? Selling accounts is a big no-no.
I’m sorry you have an illness and it must suck, but you can’t transfer accounts to people. It would be no different than selling your account. It would be cool if we could, but no. I am sorry.
I did some digging on this website and found this: https://www.guildwars2.com/en/legal/guild-wars-2-content-terms-of-use/
Q: Can I resell, give away, or trade my Guild Wars or Guild Wars 2 account? Can I sell items on my account for real-world money or trade them for items in another game?
A: No. For further information, please see the Guild Wars User Agreement and Guild Wars 2 User Agreement.
Just, don’t tell anyone if you do it.
P.S. Go to a famous art museum and look at some pictures while you still have the chance. You won’t regret it.
Trust me, I have been seeing all I can.
I have seen every sunrise and sunset, as the skies here are beautiful. I just wish I could see the colors of the trees once again where I grew up rather than all the browns that make up this area.
With the way my eyes are, I havent been able to work and we had to use all our money this month to keep from getting evicted, so christmas was cancelled for our kids.
BUT I am trying to see everything I can and commit to memory as much as I can. I was just hoping I could give it to my step son so it would get used. The game is to great to not share and someone has to take care of my toons when I cant anymore =D
Sorry to hear about your situation, I can understand, since I am a type 1 Diabetic but fortunately I have no complications.
About your account, I don’t think that you can formally hand it over, but have you considered just giving it to him- what I mean is give him your log in details so he can play on the account?
That way he can still play and I don’t think/ hope that violates any rules since it is your personal info?
You might want to change any of your own info that is linked to the account however like CC details, emails etc.
I hope this helps you and good luck with your health- diabetes is a brute of a disease.

Since he is your stepson, I’m pretty sure you qualify legally as guardian and parents/guardians actually being the lawful account holders of their kids’ account is pretty common practice I believe for most MMO/ or subscription games.
Nobody will raise an eyebrow I’m sure

I’m sorry to hear about your situation, OP. Hopefully the coming years will be easier on you.
But otherwise, I’d do as Morrigan says. If you truly aren’t going to be using the account anymore, just give your login details to your stepson and effectively “hand over the reins”. As long as he’s playing from the same network and location as you, there shouldn’t be any problems. Get him to request a change of e-mail address through Support, delete your CC info from the account (if appropriate), and that should pretty much tie up everything.

Don’t forget that law trumps eula.
If you’re in Europe then you have the right to resell your software (see UsedSoft vs Oracle).

Then consider this solved! Go for it, Mr. OP. Feel free to give your son your account!

You could always sell your CDs. You can even sell your serial or login info. The only thing that matters is what you’ll never be able to sell – the data on their servers that make up your account.

Simply wrong. Eula is legit until someone fights it successfully in court. I wish you good luck and sufficient money to do so.
BTT If you want to hand over ownership within your family, I would open a ticket to ask the ways how to do it. Putting this into the public makes the strict enforcement of the rules a necessity. Keeping your mouth shut in public may result in more genorous terms.
Just my point of view, so don’t take my word for it.
Good luck for your health!

I also am sorry to hear about your health issues, Lordozone, and I think the above reference may cover the situation nicely.

Don’t give up so easily! You may already be experiencing the detriments of uncontrolled blood sugar, but you can still do something about it. It’s only uncontrolled because you aren’t in control of it. If you really are trying to take care of yourself and endocrinologist isn’t giving you the tools and support you need, find a new one. If you can save even partial vision, or a few more years with your family, you know it will be worth it.

can I give him my account?
Yeah, nowhere here does he say “sell”. He did say “give”. Just pointing that out. But of course the agreement does say no transfer, just as you said. But the reason for that is to stop the problem of account ownership contesting. If you can’t see anymore, I really doubt you’re going to contest ownership.
