I upgraded my lads account from trial to full.
now the prob is that his end number has jumped up one,so instead of for example 0049 its now 0050.
so in game when i add him as a friend or guild it still says 0049,so i cannot sent him any items ect ect unless i changed the 0049 to 0050 in his mail.
I have del him and re-added him but the orig number stays and wont change..

Will this get fixed as i’m assuming it will prob happen to everyone whos upgraded from a trial account.

I had the same thing happen to me – when I upgraded I went from 4031 to 4032.

My brother and I are also having the same issue. We both started with the trial and bought the game last night and added the key to our existing accounts, his number increased by one and my number increased by two (from 1978 to 1980). In game, we see our numbers as the new number, however whenever someone adds us, we show up as our old numbers on their list, and consequently any mail addressed to our old number gives them an error saying “unable to find recipient”. As a workaround, we can address the mail to our character name and it sends fine, however, I am uncertain if people who add us in the future will see us as our old number or new number.

I have the same problem. when I upgraded the trial it changed from 8394 to 8395. I also never received the Booster Multipack

I agree, this is an issue if it’s messing up in-game mails or communications. It was my understanding that the system would know about the change, and that you would be communicating with the right person even with the wrong number.

To follow up on this, I just joined a group with some other players and asked one of them which code they saw after my username, and sure enough, they saw the old one (1978) instead of the new one (1980). So it sounds like people grouping with me or adding me to their contacts list will be have trouble send me mail and such. Just wanted to update you, thanks again!

I just bought the DDE trough the Guildwars 2 shop and the same thing happened to me. I used to have number 3715 (it even told me so during the registration screen!) and it jumped up to 3716 once the game was registered.

Update: Apparently it does seem to give some issues when it comes to inviting me to a guild.
Update 2: It gives an in-game error, but the guild invite did work in the end. I heard the same things are occurring with group invites.

Im having the same problem my NEW number is Taze.5697, my old number is 5694
Everyone has trouble talking to me or mailing me anything and they have to change it manually, and its causing issues.

My wife is having same problem, her old id is Seven.4268 She didnt realise that would be visable to all so her new one is Vesperi.2897 hers is even worse, as its not a simple minor number change.

I just wanted to add an update to this and mention that we are still experiencing some issues due to these number changes that haven’t been resolved yet. In some cases the number has been updated, but in other cases it has not updated and will not update (i.e. when you add the account name with the new number it shows up as the old number on the contacts list). We have been removing and re-adding to the contacts list every few days in hopes that it will accept the correct number, but it hasn’t in some cases.

This happened to me as well, my original number was 7642, as you can see now it’s 7641. Some friends have issues mailing me items or inviting me to a guild, others don’t. It’s really bothersome when they have something for me but cannot send it to me. I actually only found this out by them trying to send me a few things, and invite me to their guild and none of it functioned.

This is happening to me as well, i went from .2571 to .2573.
