Just filed a ticket. I hope this gets solved soon. These kinds of things can lead to a lot of problems.
1. If my purchase actually DID go through with time, that means I pushed the buy button at least six times. I do not want to charge $60 for gems. I just needed a makeover kit…
2. What happens if my bank was shutting those transactions down? Will my account be locked?
Small little update: Yeah… I’m thinking it’s a server issue. I just tried again with a different account at a different computer seven miles from my normal PC and it still didn’t go through.

What kind of payment option are you using?
Try to use Credit Card or Paypal option, usually it works if you swap one of them.

Wanted to add that I am having the same problem as well.
I can see the message “Unfortunately an error has occurred. Please try again later” flash up for like 1 and half second in the background then I got redirected back to the first page.
I am using the same card that I used ever since I started playing and I have made quite a few purchase through out my game time.
Tempted to try using the PayPal option but I rather not risk it and go through all the refund process later if it is a server problem.
I had this issue at the start of the month. I always use paypal. I waited about 45 mins and tried again everything went fine.
Credit cards and Paypal give me the same result, a error has occurred.
Issue resolved. Drop VPN and works fine.
My issue has been resolved.
Apparently my bank has stopped the transaction following the advise of a “fraud prevention officer”.
I have requested them to make an exception.
