I got my wife a new account during the sale. For the past two days we have been trying to get it registered but are unable to to do so.

We are stuck on “Step Two: Create Your Guild Wars 2 account” in the registration process. When we enter the details and press Next button the same page gets reloaded and nothing else happens.

We have also opened a support ticket and got a standard reply(the usual try different browsers, clear cache, check for java script enabled) and obviously after doing everything mentioned in the reply the issue still remains. Have updated the ticket and also added additional info such as Network data dump take from IE developer toolbar.

And now they are going to change the support system and we will have to create a new support ticket (weird though I am not yet seeing the new support system).

Any one who has bought an account recently facing a similar issue? Any ideas on what else we can do?

Are you trying to use the same email address? You need a separate email address for each account. Apologies if you already thought of this but often the simple things get overlooked.

Anyways this issue got resolved. Big thanks to GW2 support people. Although they could improve their web site user interface to provide a error message or some information instead of just refreshing the page and letting the user make the same mistake again and again.

my sister is having same type of issue, it keeps highlighting her birth year and will not accept it, we put in a request ticket but have not heard anything yet and don’t know what else to do.. any ideas?

Maybe you should make a thread in the Suggestions Forum about that. Describe what could be improved.

I am happy this was resolved, and sorry that it took you time and caused frustration. I do agree that having a better message would be awesome! Could you please tell me repro steps so I can send an internal memo? Basically, “This is what I did, this is what I saw, this is what I think you should display.”
