can we update client by parts?
In a sense you can. If you stop the installer it will resume where it left off. So, if you downloaded 1 GB of that 15 then stopped, the next time it will be 14 GB to go.
Also, if you know someone nearby who also plays, try asking the tech help forum for how to copy over the main data file. The way the game is packed, most of that 15gb is one single file.

As explained, the download will resume at the point where you stopped. None of that “start all over again” stuff with us.
Of course, you’ll need to download in full to play, but you can stagger that over time, if you wish. (And remember, some of the downloading happens when you enter an area and not in the initial install.)

Which downloads are done while loading the map? I was of the opinion in GW2 it downloaded everything and than you where able to play, like GW1 downloaded a part but than continued when you entered a map.
And if there are still downloads while loading the map is there a way to say to the game download directly everything? (would be handy for my tablet not having to download while gaming…)
I’m not sure it does download anything while loading a map. I use the -maploadinfo command line argument, which lists downloads as one of its functions, and it never shows anything downloading. It does, however, show map assets and character models loading. But, maybe the downloads are invisible, or not tracked. /shrug

At a guess there will be updates day for each map for the location of the gathering nodes at the very least
Msi Z87 Gaming Board AMD R9 270x
-crucial 256 M500 SSD -Samsung 500Gb HDD
Nodes are updated the same way as spawned critters and wandering NPCs, as you zone in or when you wander toward them, but all of that comes over the relatively low stream of downloaded data ( < 10KB/s ) while playing. Yes theirs a short burst when you first zone in to initialize things but it’s not some dynamic download of content that is being implied by some, just state information.

Note that a default formatted USB drive (FAT32) will NOT copy that large a single file (FAT32 is limited to a 4GB single file). This means the USB drive will have to be formatted with NTFS or you will need a USB hard disk (that defaults to NTFS).

Actually windows 7 can format a large usb drive in NTFS. I have a 32 gig USB drive, I format it all the time in NTFS.
