You shouldn’t normally even need the code. But if you do, the team can work with other info that proves you’re the account owner, so I wouldn’t be too stressed about this. I don’t believe that we can provide the code through a ticket, because that could lead to fraudulent claims of account ownership, but of course you are welcome to discuss with Support.

If it makes you feel better, when i started getting paranoid, it took a while to find it (I ordered through Anet).
They used ArenaNet <noreply@guildwars2.com> as the sender info.

When your game decides we need to change our password for no reason it makes us use the code, so yes we need it.
ArenaNET, I buy pre-order, and now, I want see my serial key. Why its big secret? WTF?

This isn’t the thread for that – you want the thread whose title mentions three day and older tickets – it’s a sticky, so it’s in the first section of threads on this forum.

They can give it to you but will only disclose it ONCE. That’s what they said when they gave me mine. I was locked out some months ago, no idea why, then found out that I needed a CD Key to reset my PW; a CD Key I didn’t even know existed! The purchase Email they say it’s in was wiped out of my box ages before that without any knowledge that it had some secret key in it. In order to “verify” my identity, they had me dig up the transaction ID/date that I made the purchase with, which, fortunately, I was able to do on my Paypal. No one could possibly get that information unless they also had my Bank/Paypal information as well. Afterwards, they gave me my CD Key. Hope that helps.
