It’s a jumping puzzle in the middle of a PvP map. Why would anyone ever get into trouble for pvping in a pvp zone?

aye, true that.
but in the topic that i linked, i saw some one claiming that he / she have reported at least 20 players for participating in PvP inside obsidian sanctum !!! O_O
Reporting doesn’t get anybody suspended. It just asks ArenaNet to investigate. Why in the world would anybody get suspended for PvP at a PvP jumping puzzle.

A person can report all they want, but that is a PvP area and reporting people for that is not only ridiculous but there is no way that PvPers will get in trouble for that. I can say this being a person who is (almost) completely PvE and who has barely touched WvW.
Is it allowed??Yes
Is it almost idiotic for Arenanet to put a chache there? Yes, living story is supposed to be PvE, besides that it is the Skyppirates of Tyria
Is this decission a disaster when it comes to maintaning the nice and positive attitude support and the community wants? Yes. It is almost asking for flames in EB-chat.
Is it heroic to kill PvE title hunters or are the points and tokens gained by it a proof of your eliteness in WvW: NO!!
Don’t get me wrong. I think that each member of the community is personally responsable to behave in a good manner. Itr is why me and my guildmates decided yesterday without trying to leave the chaching out title at 6/7. We don’t want to have any part in this. Towards the end of this chapter when everything is died out we might go in. But we are annoyed and we don’t want to risk loosing our control in temper.
I also think however, it is Arenanet’s responsability to prevent things to get out of hand. In general they are doing a great job (shared loot, dynamic events, and no boss camping). Sometimes it is needed to take action. The /l and /m flames round the Lyssa-event chain is a good example. In this case I think the dev’s made a very bad mistake.
Gaile,
I know you are prolly not allowed to comment this being an internal Arenanet matter, but I do hope you track down the responsable dev’s and have a good word with them bout this. I also hope that your GM’s keep this mistake in mind when judging people who where not polite in the chat there.

It was a trash move for ANet to put the cache at the very end of a difficult PvP JP though. This encourages griefing, which I had thought was something ANet was against.
Camping that JP was one thing when the rewards were PvP rewards. It’s reasonable then for one side to deny the other side blueprints. To put a purely PvE achievement, getting the cache, in a PvP zone means that PvEers can’t get the achievement if PvPers are camping the zone and killing everyone. Especially difficult if this is the first time the PvEers are doing the puzzle and are trying to figure it out. Plus this is temporary content which means that waiting out the griefers is problematic. They are there getting easy honor medals off people who don’t PvP and just want the cache, and have no reason to stop.
As this “amusing” little video shows:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k0IBD0eVhjw
At the end of the video one guys says, “didn’t get the cache”. (Laughs)
I entered the JP for the first time today. The start of it was filled with red names.
It would help if you could go in as PvE only, everyone in there is green to you, and if you do it this way you don’t have access to any of the PvP rewards. A separate PvE chest could spawn for you with the sort of loot a JP of this type would have.

This is what’s wrong with this game! Everyone wants their hand held to do anything!
The JP is too hard? Stop trying to do it while drunk off your rear then! I can do it very quickly and so should you after you go through it a couple times.
Oh and honestly, it’s a PvP zone! Now why would you want to attack anyone from a server you’re competing against in a PvP zone? In PvP, red is dead. Period.
Don’t want to sound like I’m attacking you personally but a PvE mode for a JP? I’ll stop writing now or otherwise the kitten filter will have to start working overtime.

No it isnt bout the jumping puzzle being too hard or difficult. The problem is that too many people are annoyed by being forced to participate in PvPt activity’s to get a clrealy obvious PvE-title. Also the people who are interested in WvW are annoyed by the fact that they have to wait in queu for hours due to EB being filled with PvE-ers trying to get the stash. These annoyances plus the fact that people are camping there for sleezy points makes it a wrong decission. I have no trouble at all being it at the end of a jumping puzzle no matter how difficult it is.
If they want it to do at a difficult jumping puzzle, well there are enough of those in PvE.
If they want to promote WvW among PvE’ers, then they should have putten the stash in Stone mist castle (top chamber). That way people would actually be playing World versus World and bring new blood to the format. Not by just adding canon fodder to a jumping puzzle that is allready the target of many grieving and misery due to the bad nature..

I don’t drink for one thing Mr. Rude Person, who makes false accusations. For another, I have a slow laggy connection which means that jumping puzzles are difficult. It’s not unusual for me to be one spot on a puzzle then dead on the ground in the next minute because the game lagged.
But whether or not I can do the puzzle is completely irrelevant. Way to miss the point, Mr. Don’t Know How To Read.

That was actually a good idea. A PvE mode for Obsidian Sanctum. It is one of the best JP out there. Also a PvE version accessible from one of the cities (not LA, please!!) would be useful to keeping people who do not like to PvP (or are ‘passing through’) from clogging up the EB queue.
I do both PvP and PvE, I enjoy all aspects of this game and have done Obi JP twice in the last few days. Once I did it to get the cache (8a.m. on a EU server is usually quiet..hint hint) and the second time to get badges and seige for WvW. Given the option to do it just for the cache, with no need to fight, I would have gone to a PvE version the first time.
When I go into the sanctum JP from WvW I expect to be fighting. But I will agree with those people here that say it is WRONG! for a PvE achievement to require players to enter an environment that they may not like, or be capable of completing while somebody wants to take yellow delight in making things even more difficult for them.
