I have the same problem. Of course they suspend your account if they think it’s hacked. I actually have control of my account, and it’s still suspended after going through the ticket process. So, it may be possible that after you account is restored, you will still not be able to play once you get control over it.

You guy’s havent been hacked. Someone attempted to hack it and since they dont have a account restore system in place they simply just suspend it until you send in your information. Problem is, we have to wait a long time to get our account back even if we have control of it. I received the same message 12 hours ago and still have not heard anything.
I was online, my screen went black and I was thinking “Oh, the game just crashed…time to reboot”. Nope. So it’s just an unfinished system and unfortunately we get the crappy part of it and A Net gets a longer time to figure out how to get accounts restored.
I just hope we aren’t waiting days to play just because someone TRIED to get on my account.
thanks for taking the time to reply bro. im still puzzled. Did they suspend the account from me only? or any means of access? as in does the hacker still have access to my account? and why would i not be able to regain control over my chaacter once my account is restored?

What I did as soon as I read that it had been suspended, was change my password. If you can still log into the forums, your account has not been completely hacked to the extent that they have changed your password. So, I would first change your password and even email if you’re really concerned. But if you can log into the forums, it should be fine. The hacker is not able to log onto the account which is why they have this suspended mechanism. It’s to prevent the hacker to logging on, we just get the crappy part because we want to play and well….ITS OUR ACCOUNT.
Your characters and items will still be there when you log on. That’s why they put in this system. If they had not, possibly the hacker would have deleted your characters, items, maybe gotten banned for spam. If that happened your SoL because they have no way of recovering items, thus they suspend the account.
well i guess its good news that i can log into the forums then. ive changed the password, but not to a significantly different one. ill do that now. characters can be remade and items can be re-farmed. i wont have enough money for a second account.

me got suspended too and report the issue completely but im so curious about “the support will reply shortly” and i still waiting for 18 hours and no signs of “the support”

Yes, don’t worry it does that for me as well. If you try to follow the link they sent you more than once, it will give you that message. Go into your account settings manually and change it there.

If you are talking about the automated message that they send you as soon as you send in a ticket saying that “Hacked”, it doesn’t work. I sent in a ticket saying suspended as well as hacked because it is unclear as to what it really is?
I followed the steps and did the account restoration process and I am still suspended too.
Other than that, I don’t know.
We are in the same boat then Cinnah. I send in a new ticket, as well as updated the ticket they resolved as I was unsure exactly what to do. It’s really an issue from my previous ticket.
I had a GM contact me about the problem, but so far nothing has been done. Haven’t heard from my new ticket or my old ticket. I guess we just wait, which is disheartening.

Yeah… same thing happened to me. It’s now been five days. I reset my password and sent in my information to Anet. One automated response message.
my friend just reported to me that im online currently. what do? i guess they didnt prevent he hacker from entering and using my character afterall. So i guess ill sit here, wait for a week for Anets response while someone joys over my character. Dope

At 12:15pm EST Sept 13th my account was hacked. I didn’t use same email and password combos, I dont play other games other then on Xbox, and I don’t answer emails from my computer so I have no idea how I got hacked. I put in a hacked account ticket right away and also put one into ncsoft support as well thinking maybe it would be fixed faster, I wrote a blog about it on Facebook page and I mentioned it on a few forums. Not this one though since my account is linked to this forum so I could not make a reply here. Less than 48 hrs later it was resolved, thank you arenanet. One thing I would say to anyone who gets hacked and makes a support ticket is that you should definately put your email you want game to be under, your game key code and a current character name in gw2. All of these things make process faster since you are proving in the ticket that you own the game and that saves them time.
One thing I am confused about is that I have seen a video where Colin Johansen says that recovered accounts will be restored with all your items and characters from before you were hacked. Also I read a forum post made by Gail on guru saying the same thing to someone that was worried he would lose all his stuff. But in my message from support they said that they can not recover any items or characters lost by hacker. And of course the hacker that took my account whipped my inventory and money and gems clean. The only thing he left was what was on the character. Thank god for that atleast. So is this what’s gonna be the norm. Hopefully they stop telling people one thing and do another. Nobody should make promises they can’t keep.
don’t take this the wrong way, I may disagree with their preparedness of support but I hold high regards for Arenanet and their devs, just not a big fan so far of the support team. Then again they did recover my account in under two days. I do believe that some of my actions did speed up the process but I’m not sure. with that being said I am so happy to be back in game and for those who are not yet playing again from being hacked I have some advice. Try everything to make them aware that you are waiting and that you are the true owner of the account. See you in game

I have a theory that we wont be able to get our accounts out of suspension until the weekend is over. So, hopefully Monday we can play again.
All we can do is send in our support tickets and wait.
