so i got this message a few days ago and this basically tells me some sob already have my acc and password and tried to log in!! lucky for me i guess whoever that sob was too stupid to actually log in from the main site and change the password, that would basically have screwed me over and gotten a game for free!!

prior to this message i was getting a few fake emails about account probs, i did not click on any of the links and as such still wondering how my account was compromise ?? is this email also a fake and tried to get me to click on the link ??? if so they sure have up their game!!

so what i have done now is obviously change to a new password and boy it was not easy due to the fact anet specific requirements ,maybe that’s what save my acc?? after all if your understanding of english is poor i don’t think you can figure it out.

i also thinking of changing my email (not sure if that’s possible) maybe also getting that phone app for my acc??

so iam wondering if anyone else got this email or iam just one very lucky kitten!! if they really have gotten my acc i would be devastated

was i lucky??

This mail isnt fake and indeed means that your where one step away from being hacked.

You account can have been compromised in many ways. Mike O’brien (president of Arenanet) wrote a pretty good article.

If you have concerns bout the emailadress you can always ask Arenanet to change it for you: support.guildwars2.com (ask a question).

The authentication app for your hpone is off course a very excellent additional security measure.

Change your email password if it’s the same as your GW2 password, and if you’ve used the same email and password you use for GW2 on other sites, you should change those passwords too. Make your passwords different at every site you go to if you don’t want your data at that site to be compromised.
