1/2 year later - Sign Cutting still bugged.

So I’ve had the same bug most people had with the story mission Sign Cutting when HoT came out. Tried a bunch of tricks I read on the forums to fix it – didin’t work. Filed a bug report. After a week or two – filed another one. After a couple of patches, tried to turn on the mission again and it still was bugged at the rock.

Now I know I could do the story with my other characters, but I got really attached to the narrative with my main guy and I don’t really feel like either playing the story with others or watching it on youtube or something. For me, this story is my main characters story and it feels wrong otherwise (RP’ers should understand).

I don’t know if I should just keep sending bug reports (that I don’t even know if they work) or just abandon hope. Wrote this up as a last ditch effort to maybe get a mod to reset the chapter’s progress for my character or something (if that’s even possible).

What part of Sign Cutting bugs for you? You said “at the rock”, but I’m not sure which part you mean. I just ran most of HoT story earlier today on one of my characters, and it all worked fine.

When HoT came out there was this pretty nasty bug at the second clue, which was the rock, that a ton of players had it not work. There were multiple forum threads listing different methods to “un-bug” the situation and for a good chunk of players it worked. Then ANet released a patch and it seemed to fix it for most of the community. Though I’m still stuck at the same rock till now.
