This issue happens everyday.

Most of the time when I try to whisper another player I get one to ten minute delays from the time I hit Enter to send the message.

The message is not echoed on the screen and received by the other player 1 to 10 minutes later.

Team Chat, Map Chat, Party Chat, and Guild chat are all echoed and seen by the other players immediately.

But whispers are almost always delayed. Sometimes it works perfectly but most of the time the whispers are delayed by minutes.

Yes. I have experienced this since day one of playing. It is so frustrating and I am sure we’re not the only ones. Although this was posted 19 days ago and no one was said “this is happening for me too” until now.

:/ I really hope this gets fixed.

It may be a bug, but someone brought this to my attention when I asked in game. Was the person you are trying to whisper from a different continent? ie. North American player whispering a European Player or South American player.

The work around that i have found was to invite the person to a party and that seems to have no delay.

No it’s not Europe vs American. It happens to any player I try to whisper.

I recommend that anyone experiencing this bug contact support directly. Most likely, it’s something specific to your setup and they can help you resolve that. Even if it turns out to be a problem on ANet’s end, they will need to see diagnostic data from your end to troubleshoot the issue.
