This is not the first time I have made a thread on this. This has been brought up countless times on the forums and in game, to no response. Does this company really not care about legitimate game breaking bugs involving a core part of the game?

It has been over a year and still these skills are broken in terms of combat viability.

Sure, GS rush and Bull’s Charge are great for disengaging a fight, other classes complain warriors are too good at disengaging a fight with those skills.

Perhaps if you fixed these skills so they could actually ATTACK THE ENEMY, they might actually be used during combat, resulting in them being on recharge, and not saved for escaping.

But that’s beside the point.

Try using Rush on a stationary ambient critter from medium range or a bit further, it is hilarious to see your character fail to hit it. Utterly hilarious.

These skills have been broken for over a year, this is what REGULARLY happens (95% of the time), unless you use them at point blank melee range:

GS Rush
1) You select a target
2) You use Rush
3 a) You run past the target (HOW?!), and then turn/swing and hit nothing
3 b) You run next to the target, and then swing and hit nothing

Bull’s Charge
1) You select a target
2) You use Bull’s Charge
3) As you come near the target, it gets damaged and knocked down, then your character proceeds to fly 200-600 range past it, which moves you outside of melee range, making the skill entirely useless, yet absolutely hilarious to facepalm to

The only time these abilities can be used, is at melee range, and if the stars and planets align.

RUSH should charge up to your opponent, and then take a big swing.

At melee range, when you are already next to your opponent, it should just take the big swing. But many times you go through the whole running animation while not budging an inch, wasting precious seconds before you take that big swing. The loss of time while the unnecessary animation is going on can result in your being interrupted.

Combined with the erratic targeting system, I often find myself streaking off to the side of my screen with this skill, to engage some poor yellow creature I didn’t even know was there. Makes for some real frustrating battles sometimes.

If I rush into a wall, I expect to move until I reach that wall, making for a big noise and some damaged drywall.

If I am against the wall and “rush” into it, I expect to make a lot of noise, and sound something like a fish out of water, flopping around on a snare drum. I do not expect dramatic results.

Just saying.

Yet the game receives plenty of overpriced gem store updates.

If the core of the game is not working, you fix it, you don’t ignore it.

ALL IS VAIN.
PvP modes are the “endgame” in every MMO.
Stop failing at PvE, start fixing PvP/WvW. Thank you.

What the OP wrote is spot on. Also, this issue is 99% about fighting moving enemies, aka players in sPvP or WvW. It has a few issues in PvE but those are irrelevant since the AI is almost always stationary and never kiting.

Term for future reference to save space:
“the Rush Lottery” – During the swinging action, sometimes the character will face 1-3 random directions in a brilliant spasm, you will either hit or miss the target, it is entirely random. Most commonly the character will face only 1 random direction, 3 is a sight to behold.

Greatsword 5 – Rush
(Against normal sized enemies, like other players)

Common Problems – Overview:
- Once reaching the target, sometimes the character performs “the Rush Lottery” (See top of post for details).
- Once reaching the target, sometimes moves behind the enemy and swings at the air behind them.
- Once reaching the target, sometimes moves behind the enemy followed by “the Rush Lottery”.
- Using Rush from long range almost always results in no hit.
- Using Rush against moving targets almost always results in no hit.

When used from point blank melee range (0-100)
- Stationary targets: hits pretty much 100% of the time.
- Moving targets: sometimes performs “the Rush Lottery” (Can literally turn 180 degrees and swing at air).

When used from medium range (500)
- Stationary targets: High chance you will land the hit on the target. Not 100% though.
- Moving targets: Cross your fingers, there’s more than a 50% chance of “the Rush Lottery” happening.

When used from 700 or more range
- Stationary targets: Flipping a coin to determine if you land a hit would produce better results.
- Moving targets: You’re more likely to win a $100,000,000 jackpot with a single ticket purchase while staring at a black cat as you walk under a ladder on Friday the 13th.

Free Laugh:
- Find a stationary ambient critter
- Position yourself 800-1000 range away
- Press 5
- Watch as you run past it, and swing at the air behind it, or perform “the Rush Lottery.
- Laugh uncontrollably at its ridiculousness
- Facepalm
- Repeat until you no longer laugh

PvE Problems:
- If the target is too big (Eg. oakhearts or other large creatures/objects) once the warrior is close enough, the warrior runs on the spot until the ‘channel bar’ reaches full, and then you stop, never taking a swing.

Basically, if you use Rush as a gap closer, you’re gonna have a bad time. And it has been like this since launch.

A full berserker warrior is capable of hitting a ridiculously big number with this skill (upwards of 12,000). The reason you’ve never heard anyone complain about this, is because no one is ever hit by the skill.
