Lyssa’s Grimoire – a guide every Mesmer should read.
As the title says, the dyes on the t3 light cultural for sylvari female changed, and it looks rather horrible now D:
I checked my graphic settings and tried restarting the game and computer.
Here are 2 attachments, first one is before the patch and 2nd is after. (with exactly the same dyes)
Please fix it :’(
The same for medium. This is just the worst thing that happened to me so far in this game. Please, Arenanet, this needs to be changed back/fixed. Preferably ASAP.
Attached is after and before. The one with red in it (bottom one) being the one from before the patch.

oh my god :/
Well, atleast they fixed an annoying bug in the model for light…
There used to be a see through part if you looked from under at the boob part, there was just nothing, and you saw right through it. Now there’s something, and it was an annoying bug, but not worth the new dye change :/
Same here. The armour looks rather cheap now, and not at all the reason I bought T3 light in the first place.
Same.
Been using Grass and Fern and now it looks..odd, like it lost a lot of the texture details and just washed out now.
Very sad. Hope you can fix it soon.
First picture is after patch. Second is before the patch. (Don’t mind the eyes I just suck at timing pictures :P)
I preferred the glossiness to whatever this is now. I hope its not intentional.
Edit: So it seems it was changed cause they added glow…not sure if the dye change is intentional though. Dye channels have changed but it looks horrible now. :/ Explanation here:

I was super disappointed to log in and see that they had destroyed my style. I was wearing the Sylvari T3 medium, now it indeed looks very dull and simple, instead of the wealthier and more interesting reddish pre-patch version.
Both light and medium is bugged it seems.
I sincerely hope the change is a bug.
I found this response on the issue:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/So-Anet-has-done-something-to-my-dyes-FIX/3114271
This response is unrelated to the other issue of Sylvari eyes suddenly being jet black to near jet black.
Yea my t3 medium looks terrible now. It was dyed perfectly before the update and now the colors don’t blend as well as they used to. If you put anything bright it stands out way too much :/
Right, from the thread linked above we can determine it’s not a bug. The pain is twice as sharp now
They have to change it. Or my expensive t3 will be super crap….
Maybe just add the glow and keep the details? Right now it looks really bad!
As said in other threads I love the changes ^^
I notice that you love the changes, and your character uses a white glow. Since the changes force a white glow and you want a white glow, that’s great for you! For the rest of us who don’t want glow that’s white/gray/pastel, we’re pretty upset though.
Try getting a blood red glow or a rustic orange, a deep purple one or a rich jade. It’s just not possible anymore. Your choices are white or pastel, and even if it doesn’t match your color scheme, you’re stuck with it, because there’s no way to turn the glow off for those people it’s messing up.
This combined with the loss of texture detail and the change to dye channel distributions (glow color must match panel color now, it can no longer be an offsetting accent), and it’s understandable why some people are upset.
My primary concerns right now are:
- Loss of texture detail resulting in a flat or smeared look
- Glow color is overly white, washing out other colors and preventing anything rich or vibrant. All glows are now white, gray, or pastel.
- In many places the leaf and stem are now forced to be the same color, which destroys a lot of the interesting contrast available previously, including the ability to use accent colors.
- We have no control over how much our armor glows, so that even characters who have turned off their glow entirely are now stuck looking like a lightbulb at night.
And since screenshots seem obligatory, this is the same character and same dyes in day and night. Notice how the glow color doesn’t actually match the dye color. My glow stays this same color no matter how dark I go with the orange dyes, though it will turn to pastel pink instead if I go too far into the red in my efforts to find something darker.
Ideally the intensity of the armor’s glow would be set by our character’s own glow intensity, but if that’s not possible, maybe we could get a more medium glow level as a compromise until a better solution could be added later?
