Guild Wars 2

In an effort to resolve game crashes during world boss events, it has been suggested to download and use the 64 bit version of the GW2 application. This is a simple process and doesn’t require any further configuration other than dropping the newly downloaded app file into the same directory (folder) the original exists in and then setting up a new shortcut to use it instead.

It seems to resolve the problem with large event crashes.

On the “con” side, the updated 64 bit application doesn’t fair as well when accessing the “My Story” quest instances. So far, I’ve noticed it at “Helping Hands” which is part 5 and is accessed at the Grove. The game crashes during the loading process. I tried it four times with the same result. When I switched back to 32 bit, it worked flawlessly.
I don’t know if this is true only for this part of the story line but will report back with more info.

The 64bit client is in beta, so report any bugs you find, it will hopefully get fixed next or within the “nearest” future.

It may be in beta, but Anet is pushing it as the ultimate problem solver for every conceivable issue in game. I’m surprised they haven’t popped into the precursor bug thread with the “have you tried the 64bit client?” comment yet.
