64Bit Client Crash on Map Entry
Update: Now even the repair utility, which I am unsure will even work for the 64bit client sometimes crashes on me.
All this started after I had patched.
Update: I found that if I delete the Gw2-64.tmp file and the bin64 folder then start over this fixes the issue for only a short period of time.
Whatever ArenaNet did at the last patch it broke something in how the game accesses these files/folders.
Additional Info: One thing I have noticed is that I can hear the the audio for the map that I have entered fine enough, just cannot seem to complete the loading visually and end up getting stuck on the load screen. This occurs only in the 64bit client.
So until this issue is fixed I am having to go back to the 32bit client.
Ok, I’ve been able to narrow down the error that is causing my 64bit client to crash and that is to do with SLi on Nvidia GPU’s. Anet you broke your SLi support in the 64bit client at the last patch.
All I did was turn off SLi then do what I did with SLi turned on that would cause the 64bit client to crash and found that it didn’t crash with SLi turned off. All I had to do to cause the crash was change character and the client would crash out on map load.
Alright so one or two patches later I tried turning my SLi on again and still GW2 64bit will not load properly into maps after switching characters.
Will this issue ever be fixed?
