Guild Wars 2

Hi! My friend can’t go 10 minutes without this error occurring, and it’s basically making him unable to play the game. It’s happening everywhere, entering instances, doing hearts etc etc. The game worked fine on his previous computer, but he recently got a brand new one and re-installed it. Since then he’s had this issue. He has tried re-installing the game again, but the problem’s still there :/

Error window has the cause of the crash in the bottom. That would give some clues on what the problem. Without that there isn’t any help that can be provided.

Anyone have a clue about what to do?

It says OOM…Out of Memory. How much memory does your friend have, and is he using a 32-bit system?

He has 39,4 gb left of space on his 111 gb ssd hard disk. He is using a 32- bit system, yes

So 3.5 GB on a 32bit Windows.

The short answer is upgrade to a 64bit os or lower some of the settings.

32-bit Windows cannot detect more than 3.5 GB of RAM. Your friend likely has much more RAM installed in the system, but due to using 32-bit Windows, they are only using 3.5 GB of it.

If you have 3.5 GB of RAM, 700 MB to 1.5 GB is usually used by the OS.
With other programs running on the system (anti-virus, music player, utility programs, web browser, etc), your friend is likely sitting on about 1 GB to 1.5 GB of RAM freely available for GW2.

Either ensure that they close as many programs as possible on the system before playing GW2 to have as much of that free memory available for the game as possible, or upgrade to 64-bit to gain the additional RAM that isn’t detected due to the 32-bit OS limitation.
