Every black lion weapon has been 1 ticket each when they first comes out then goes up to 2 tickets when the next set comes out, but Abaddon’s weapons started at 2 tickets each. Is this correct? And if so why?

It is correct.

Because the Devs felt this set was worth 2 tickets?

I think there was one other exception of a skin costing 2 tix, otherwise you’re correct that this is different.

ANet didn’t say why (which I think is a mistake, regardless of the reasons). People have speculated that these skins have more ‘stuff’ going on (details, animations, whatever) and that’s why. Others have suggested it might be a way to reduce the supply of BL tickets and/or increase the value of BL skins generally. Or they might have been testing the waters right before an expansion.

In the end, it’s mostly moot. There have been a few threads about this (and more about a previous skin that was account bound on acquire, so it couldn’t be sold). ANet isn’t saying and they don’t seem to be inclined to change their mind either.

As it turns out, these skins are worth just under 50g per ticket, which is pretty much the same introduction value as most other skins have been recently.

tl;dr we don’t know why.
