so in the first tier collection

you need to have 1 Ball of Dark Energy in exchange for an item.

But it’s bugged, doesn’t give me anything.

You have to buy the item from the NPC after you defeated mai trin

I thought the same thing when I first encountered the NPC. You have to choose the appropriate dialogue setting and the appropriate tab — it’s not as obvious as most vendor purchases.

You’re misleading him. He needs to interact with the vendor that’s in the opposite direction of Mai Trin before actually fighting her. He simply needs to back track from the spawn area to get to the vendor. The NPC he’s most likely talking to is the Fractal Journal NPC which most likely be used for Ad Infinitum’s final collection.

If you did kill Mai Trin, the only way to get back to the first spawn area is to die completely and then respawn when the pop up message shows.
