Aegis + Shield of Wrath Arah Deadeye Problem
Are you sure it worked, like ever? I’m pretty sure it’s intended that blocks and reflects don’t stop the deadeye shot
Nothing blocks Deadeyes…. Not even reflect shields. They’ve always been this way.
Only thing you can do is try to dodge early, get out of line of sight, or Blind them.
For this specific “run” on the Path, I actually gave up on trying to use my guardian b/c he always got ALL of their aggro for some reason. I use my Ranger for the path instead because it has 2 really long distance Double-Lunges to get through those hallways before their shots can be fired (since trying to convince your team to just blind & kill the kitten things is almost impossible when they’ve got it in their heads that running is ALWAYS THE BEST SOLUTION AND YOU’RE A PVT SCRUB IF YOU DISAGREE). If that fails, throw a Bear at them like Chubbs & Brasil

As far as I remember, it used to block. But I could be wrong, hence I want to find out if it was intended. Also Aegis pretty much blocks everything in the game which makes me wonder why the exception?

I believe it was their intended “thing”. Overcharged windup shot that cannot be blocked by anything but terrain and dodging.

This is not true, many things in fact can stop deadeye, aegis being one of them, at least used to be. War shield block is another, sword offhand block too, enduring pain as well, mes distortion too and so forth.
And there are many things that wall of reflect does not work for, so thats not really a good example to began with.
Also I run with my knight/zerker guard in arah p2 with little to no prob, always used aegis before until recently.

As of now, war shield block deadeye among many other skills.

As far as I understood, the charging animation is only to indicate that the damage on those attack would be massive / 1 shot, and not an indication of it being unpreventable / unblockable.
Because then the same logic should be applied to other mob / boss that have charging attack animation:
Ascalonian Catacombs: Lieutenant Kholer (Charge Spin Attack)
Ascalonian Catacombs: Skelk (Charge Stun / Knock down Attack)
Arah – P3: Wraithlord Crusher (Charge Hammer – 1 shot)
Arah – P3: Wraithlord Mage Crusher (Charged AOE – 1 shot)
Arah: Abomination (Charge Ram Attack)
etc.
All these attack can be blocked via Aegis / Shield of Wrath (Focus 5), not to mention that some of these are bosses, and deadeye is only a trash mob. Also if other classes can prevent / block the attack then it is an inidcation that Aegis / Shield of Wrath is bugged.
Please bump for attention, Thanks.
