There a bug in the mechanics of Aegis.
If you block with a block skill Aegis gets removed and the block skill activates.

Two examples:
When you are under the effect of Aegis and Shield of Wrath (focus #5 on guardian) you lose Aegis and 1 stack of Shield of Wrath if you are struck by anything.

When you are under the effect of Aegis and Protector’s Strike (maze #3 on guardian) you lose Aegis and activate the effects of Protector’s Strike.

Only one of the effects should take effect on a single block. And I recommend that the skill effect should trigger first because if Aegis triggers first skills like Protector’s Strike would fail pretty often.

I am not sure if this is working properly but I tested what he said and I can confirm about the “bug”

Sometimes it removes Aegis when you dodge an attack, right?
