All Living Story Points to Black Citadel!
That’s curious. The tracker (the thing on topmost right) says you must go to Silverwastes. In this case, all asura gates or map exits would show that green icon. In your case I would expect the green icon to be over the asura gate close there. Really odd. If you can, try to set journal to Personal Story and then back to Living Story and see if things get sorted.
Another thing, when out of Black Citadel where does the green star is at (not the swirl icon, that as I said the swirl icon will always be on map exits if you’re not in your destination map)? Based on your tracker it should be somewhere on Silverwastes.
Sometimes the AI (pathing) will try to send you the quickest route to somewhere, even if said route is not available to your character.
I’m not sure why it’s placed the green star right there, but whenever you encounter a ‘dead end’, open the World Map and see where it truly wants you to go. Then just map travel somewhere close to the actual location, or use portals to get close.
Good luck.
Yeah, that’s really odd. There’s not any “map exit” at the location where it’s placed, otherwise it wouldn’t be so weird given the default behavior as I said before.
It might be leftover from the Prince Thorn instances, perhaps? That’s the only thing I can think of for an entrance/exit right there.
You might consider a -repair of the client, in case of corrupted file(s).
Good luck.
Yesterday I made a new clean gw2 client install. Today I started LS2 E1 on a twink and it sent me to the same place as in the picture. I was in Rata Sum, so the shortest would have been north and not Lions Arch → Black Citadel → Dead end.
I have it done the LS more then enough and of course I know the right way, but I think this might be a real problem for new players.

Yeah, that came up to my mind but I don’t think it would see that entrance like a “map exit” (like those on borders which leads to another map). But still weird that even a clean install didn’t solve that.
