Not really a bug, just a terribly formulated mob name; in the colossus fractals level you go up against novices. And the tougher novices are called “Veteran Novices”. You can’t be a Veteran Novice. You can only be either or. A veteran, or a novice. Therefore this mob name is a poorly constructed oxymoron. I’d like to see the mob renamed to something that actually makes some sense.

When i encounterd them i was wondering:
1) are they a veteran at being novice ?
2) are they a novice veteran ?
Anyway in both cases they are way to strong to fit the name

A namechange would be fitting
But you must admin there are many other problems / bus that are far more urgent.

I saw these names as well and actually found them very amusing.

That actually sounds awesome. These guys are doomed to be noobs forever! Such a terrible fate, you’re doing them a favor by ending their existence.

Ah, but you can be a veteran novice. A novice can mean either new or at the bottom rung of an organization. A veteran usually means someone on the job for a long time.

For example, a life-time corporal in the armed services could be called a veteran novice.

And in this game, “veteran” typically means a stronger version of the vanilla-version of the NPC, so it makes sense in context.

However, that said, it’s a bad design when something relatively unimportant pulls anyone out of the game to have to think about the grammar/vocabulary. I support a name change.

Let’s not forget about “Veteran Young Karka” shall we? I’ve been trying to find Veteran Karka Hatchlings… no such luck.
