Annoying Ranger Bugs Avoiding Being Addressed
Entangle does direct damage and immobilize every 1.5 seconds as a pulse. This is why you can remove the immobilize and walk right out of it with condition removal so you dont have to destroy it. Maybe you are seeing this happen sometimes? I think this is also why stealth works because it is also dealing direct damage that comes with the immobilize. I would agree with the block as it’s listed as unblockable.
It would also be nice if directional skills didn’t go on full CD if the player moves behind you. The same issue happens with mesmer magic bullet and I’m sure other classes have similar problems.

A direct quote from the skill: “…immobilized until the vines are destroyed.”
It’s obvious it’s not functioning like it’s supposed to, but no one cares. Player’s shouldn’t be able to walk out when they please, block an unblockable skill, or just stealth out.
You may want to refer to the wiki. Yes it immobilizes until destroyed. But it’s pulses to do the immobilize. It’s like SR it pulses stealth for 3 seconds so that it ends up stealthing you for a long time but if you are knocked out of it early you don’t get the full stealth duration. So if I use condi cleanse right after a pulse I can walk right out of entangled. Now you could argue that stealthing shouldn’t stop the pulse of immobilize but I kind of view it like AI because it also is doing direct damage. And AI will stop doing damage and therefore the immobilize pulse while stealthed. I do still agree that it should be unblockable right when you use it. It is unblockable once the person is immobilized so that they can’t get around the immobilize by blocking a pulse which would let them walk right out. Only the initial use of the skill blocks it which really isn’t right.

My 2 cents : The CD is relatively short on this skill and as an AoE skill it is rather strong. Which is why there is several ways to counter it. For instance as a mesmer I can blink out, wait a little to have the immobilize stack with bleeds and use arcane thievery to give it to you while I walk out of the root, or stealth. I’d also like to mention if it immobilized until destroyed (in the way you are envisioning it) and I used arcane theievery on you, you would have to to figure out which root I was in and destroy it to rid yourself of immobilize IF the skill didn’t pulse. I would welcome that change lol.

That’s just it. It shouldn’t pulse a hard cc. It should be a un-removable condition that is removed when the vines are destroyed.
or
Be able to re-entangle foes who walk into it, if a foe walks out and doesn’t destroy it. Which it doesn’t. But this is obviously not what the skill was intended to do.
Sorry I was being a bit sarcastic there sorry haha. I meant if it was not pulsing and gave a and did something else to keep me rooted, I would put that back onto you with arcane thievery and that would be pretty broken. The thing is at this point it is intended. The descriptions aren’t all that detailed in the skill tip. They would need to write 4 or 5 sentences to explain every skill in detail. But that’s why we have the wiki even tho it’s player driven it describes skills in more detail. If you go soley off the skill tip to understand a skill, I could easily argue another 10-20 other skills are “bugged” as well. The game would look completely different then in terms of balance.
Although the issue of it being blocked is clearly a bug. And maybe stealth is a bug. But the pulsating of the skill is not a bug.

All the spirit have that casting issue, it is as though anet had designed them not to move.

I think the pulsating although not a bug, it’s definitely not how they intended for it to work. They wanted the vines to be destroyed, but took the easy way out made it just reapply imob and threw a plant looking thing at target’s feet which doesn’t really do anything.
