Aquabreather
Hello everyone!
I have changed stats on many, many ascended gear, so I am aware of how to do it.
Now I tried to change the stats of my “Zojja’s Cloth Breather” with “Viper’s Intricate Gossamer Insignia”. It doesn’t work. Is this probably a bug, that changing stats on an aquabreather doesn’t work to vipers? Or isn’t it implemented yet? I asked my guild and noone knew anything about it. Please help me!
Your’s sincerely,
frostrachen
They’ve never offered a way to change stats on breathers and my hope is that they never do.
Instead, I would prefer them to change breathers to use the same stats as your headpiece and just use the breather slot to reskin what you look like underwater. (Of course, anyone with a current ascended breather would be able to choose a replacement head piece, or perhaps even any armor slot.)
Well, some good news is that, as of this moment, the aquabreather issue is on the Known Issues Tracker. It’s been listed under: Items: You can’t use the Mystic Forge to change stats on Ascended aquabreathers. Status: Verifying

Oh, that are really good news! Thanks for the reply! I guess, there is no date, when it will be avaliable.
Thank you very much

Well, to me, that’s bad news — it means that ANet is doubling down on continuing to require breathers underwater, even though we don’t need them to breathe, there’s only one underwater fractal, and it forces us to slot a 7th rune.
Still, it’s fair that if ANet isn’t planning on changing the requirement, that breathers be treated like helms and allow stat changing.
Thanks for posting this, Melden — I completely missed it in my last read of the tracker.
