Myself and some other guild members attempted this route of Arah tonight and encountered a lot of bugs and balance issues. I have also done the Glint and Mursaat routes up until the Lupus midboss, but they were, at least the parts of them which I saw, far less buggy than this route. I may misremember the exact boss names, so please bear with me.

- The Priest of Melandru (?) who spawns poison trees is easily beatable by allowing him to spawn as many trees as he can on one side of the room, then moving to the other side of the room, as he will no longer spawn trees and so can be easily attacked.

- The Priest of Lyssa (?) who was disguised as a whispers’ agent became stuck on the statue, and stood there and did nothing as we killed her.

- The Lupus midboss is vastly out of step with the rest of the instance, before and after him, in terms of difficulty. We were all geared in exotics, had consumables and had attempted him before so knew what to do, but even if we didn’t allow any grubs to reach him we were unable to beat him without pulling him all the way to a waypoint and resurrecting repeatedly. It may be that it was intended to be difficult, it just seemed out of place.

- The debuff of the Priest of Grenth can activate even after he’s dead whenever a party member moves through the room, and can affect party members across the map from the one who moves through the room.

- The sparks spawned in the Priestess of Dwayna fight were where we eventually had to give up. The animation showing which spots had been activated by a spark and which hadn’t were messed up, so some would appear to be activated when they weren’t and vice versa. They would also sometimes get stuck on each other or not activate when they were over a spot, so the boss would continually regenerate to full health. She would also occasionally reappear before any sparks had been brought to the right places, but then would disappear almost immediately after, with the sparks respawning.

It may well be possible to finish the instance on another route, but all of these issues make it extremely frustrating to do, and it doesn’t seem right that we got through what we did because of or despite significant bugs.

Same here, same spot I was stuck at – Priestess of Dwayna. It’s not even the laughable spark pathing AI, or the buggy recognition of them being in their spheres – she always disappears at 50% health to heal. Every time. One time we got the sparks back to place in about 7-8 seconds? She reappeared at 60% health, we wailed on her, moments later she disappeared again. I guess based on this pretty major problem, she’ll disappear every time at 50% to heal. No way to get her past that. Especially because she gains some buff with a “…” description, letting us know nothing as to how to try and stop it.

Updating this, we managed to complete the instance on the ‘Forgotten/Glint’ route, so it is possible to complete. Apart from the high difficulty for Lupus it was bug-free, so anyone who does Arah explorable can hopefully complete that one. We also tried the Jotun route but had to stop at the tar boss when we ran out of time, though up until that point it seemed to also be bug-free.

The other routes seem fine, just the longest & hardest is glitched near the end, which is pretty ridiculous. The forgotten path is likely the shortest (Haven’t tried Jotun, done Mursaat / Forgotten to completion however), but the Mursaat path is pretty dang long as well. Still has nothing on the Seer route though.

As of 9/26, the encounter with the Priestess of Dwayna is still bugged. A majority of clearing this fight relies on luck that an effect isn’t bugged, rather than any form of player skill.

Fantastic that Arenanet is quick to fix exploits and shortcuts, but it seems they’re abysmal at fixing things for legitimate runs.

As for Lupus, he’s not too bad if:
-You stack during phase 1 to deal with adds/worms (stuns help)
-You reset the boss if he gets even one stack from eating a worm (no pets on boss as well)
-You have a single support character dedicated solely to providing speed, curing conditions, and picking up downed players.

Did mursaat and jotun last night, and seer this morning…. all 3 bugged out and we were unable to complete. At the 9 titan dudes in jotun that you have to kill in the light 3 turned friendly and we couldn’t kill. At mursaat the first red point you need to go to the little asuran you need to talk to was unable to activate. Aaaand after the melandru’s mage dude who spawns the trees in seer after you beat him and get the waypoint it just dead ends after killing mobs, no where to go. There is a master of whispers person though that i’m assuming brings up some event to get past it. Oh well 6 hours in total down the drain. AND NOT ONE TOKEN TO SHOW FOR IT!!!

I think the worst part about the recent change to rewards is exactly this… Bugged late dungeon/final du.geon bosses. They should not have changed the reward system until they made sure all paths on all dungeons are consistently working as intended.. Otherwise you get honest/legit players who end up spending a few hours playing a path legitimately for no reward =/
