It takes many, many tries to get a post or edit to actually show up on the forum without the error message.

Possibly. But they haven’t made these changes yet. I was thinking it’s more likely to be part of the forums being almost completely down the previous day.
And most annoying is .. if you press the back button, the text you typed in is gone .. so if you forget to copy it before into your clipboard .. everything is gone … grrr

It would be browser/page dependent. If it is on the box on the bottom of the thread it doesn’t stay. If it is on the reply/quote page it will remain at least in Firefox.

Well, the problem seems to have mysteriously resolved itself today. No problems posting at all.

As you can see Gail was testing the fix when it got to her starting a little after 4pm EST and finished up a little before 7pm EST. Sure no big drum roll, or follow up announcement until they’re sure by seeing no more complaints, which actually would be a problem since it was about not being able to post … but knock on wood or wood laminate, it seems to be fine for me and I always consider my experience to be on par with the majority.

Yepp .. exactly this was the problem. Using reply remembered the text, but just answer
directly .. and text was away.
