Armor Dye Bug [SERIOUSLY ANNOYING]
Are you applying a dye color that you actually own to the boots, or are you using the color picker tool on a different piece of armor and trying to apply that way? Some armor pieces have a default dye color that are not in the starter set, so even though you can use the color picker to re-dye another piece within the preview panel, when you exit the preview screen the changes will not stick because you don’t actually have that particular color unlocked yet. I noticed this issue the other day, and it took me a while to figure out what was going on, but that may be what you’re experiencing.

ANet cannot respond to every bug note posted on the forums. If they tried, they would end up spending more time carefully typing out replies (so that there’s little room for misinterpretation) than they would actually resolving the issue.
If the issue only affects a tiny number of people on only a fraction of the armor pieces, then it will be lower priority than a bug that affects everyone. It’s also not an urgent issue, since, at worst, it’s just annoying; it isn’t a game blocking issue.
Further, I imagine that this bug is difficult to replicate, which makes it difficult to figure out a solution.
So the fact that a bug hasn’t been resolved in 3 months doesn’t mean ANet doesn’t care, it only means the bug hasn’t been resolved yet.
I do hope they fix it, because a lot of people spend a lot of time getting their characters to look “just so.”
3 months? there are a lot of reported and not fixed bugs since game release. for example charr footprints.
I have experienced something similar in the past and iirc, my solution was to find a piece of armour with four colour fields and apply the wanted colour to those, zone and then swap back to the armour I had problems with.
I hope that made sense, I’m slightly tired atm.
When you awake, quaggans will be here, and there’ll be a crab cake, just for you…
