In the explorable version of Ascalonian Catacombs, the game would not allow us to advance to the Hall of Champions task. We took the npc to the area and had every member of our group stand in the circle, but the task did not start.

Same problem here. The quest says “Help Detha set a trap to kill the Patriarch Go with Detha to the Hall of Champions”
We killed the Patriarch, we went to the Hall but then nothing happened. It just says “Head to the Hall of Champions”.
