I’m not actually sure if this is bugged or not and so I thought I should ask since map chat had conflicting opinions on the matter.

My questions is, am I suppose to be able to get into the inner chamber on toons that haven’t done the story that far yet?

To start off, I have exalted mastery maxed so that shouldn’t be an issue. And have done the whole story of HoT on 1 toon, however I was under the impression that I had to do the story on each toon up to that chapter where you enter the Inner Chamber to be allowed access after for things like the vista. (map completion is mainly my reason for this), however when someone asked in map chat about wanting to get into the chamber for the vista, someone answered they could get in without the story and have done so on a few different toons for map completion since on one of their toons they had completed the story and have the exalted mastery and a few others chimed in saying that was true.

So which is correct? having to do the story up to that point on each character or just finishing with one on your account to have access on all toons (plus mastery). Cause if it’s the later I’ve been bugged it seems for like the last 6 months if that’s the case.

Per the Wiki:

There is an Exalted Portal to the Inner Chamber located near where you can jump down from the Forgotten City Waypoint. Drop down and head east. Follow the tunnel to the right and down. As of the Spring Quarter update, this area is open to all.

Thus, access was changed with the Spring Quarterly Update, and not a bug. =)

Open world maps are independent of Personal/Living Story instances. As long you have any ability required you are able to reach everything. In this case, the ability required is a Mastery then you just need to have it unlocked to be able to reach that area. If you could unlock that mastery without doing Story, then you could reach that area without even doing Story in any character.

I believe if you had to do Story or any other content in order to reach an area, they wouldn’t have put a map completion item behind it, that would be blocking progress.

Fact is, in open world maps, any area is reachable to any character, as long they have any ability required (mastery, level, etc).

Thanks for the info and help you two. seems I hadn’t tried it since the spring update since I had that info in my head that it wouldn’t work and never bothered to check again. Didn’t even think to look at the wiki, nice one. Went on one of my toons that hadn’t done the story and worked just fine, not sure why it didn’t work that first tried a day ago but did now.
