I know this is an old complaint but didn’t get a hit on a search here. I still have really strange auto target issues in that even though I have it set to closest target, it picks far away targets. It picks targets that are out of range and sometimes not just a little bit. It picks targets that I have no line of sight to at all, like far on the other side of a hill. As this is an old bug from back in beta I was wondering if it was left over from the pre pay beta client version and there is some kind of distance reading issue. I still have the original client that was supposed to be ready to update but I have never found a fix or have seen improvement for this. It seems to be a hit or miss almost random but IMO no game client should have you shooting at things that are way out of range or behind large solid objects so I think I am bugged.

I sometimes get this bug too. It’s extremely annoying. I suspect it’s somehow linked to time lag between you and the server where the server doesn’t register that you’ve clicked on a new, closer target before activating your skill.

It feels like the devs are trying to make targeting smarter, but since mid south sun I have been having a heck of a time with oddly chosen targets with my ranger. There was a sweet spot a few months back where everything worked, but I think the latest experiments are not working as planned.
