This issue was raised in this thread in December, when it first came up in said patch. According to this post by Evan Lesh, this is not how the autobalance system is supposed to work, yet the issue still persists now.

Somewhere during the December patch, a change was made so that you must volunteer in order to receive the win bonus. If nobody volunteers and you are autobalanced to the other side, you will receive a loss if the team you are autobalanced to loses (which is fairly often the case). This is pretty easy to test, particularly with the “Win as X class” daily, which will not be completed when autobalanced and losing.

This has had the consequence of matches resolving themselves after the opening split, and the remainder of the match becomes an autobalance spamfest. I’ve noticed the amount of players forcing autobalance (leaving in a 4v5, changing it to a 3v5, triggering the autobalance system. As soon as the match becomes 4v4, they join the winning team) has increased pretty significantly.

I had this happen to me as well. So I started voulenteering which is kinda annoying that you have to or risk losing the win bonus. It’s not so much voulenteering then lol.

This is the price you pay from farming easy wins for achiĀ“s. When you indeed can browse matches and find one that has say 350-100 situation you join the winning team and take points somewhere all you need is do one cap, kill, res or whatever and get the fast win but you have the risk to get autobalanced to loserdom before the end xD.

Actually I just play it for fun with a friend and often we make people quit because we make the score unbalanced. Yeah we are good but like I said we are only doing it for fun I have all the achievements and my rank is almost 80 (his is) but I don’t really care about that.

This is an actual bug… It has nothing to do with achivement farming. As long as you click voulenter you are good. You will always get win bonus so if I was actually trying to farm achievements I would just do that….

Furthermore if you think about it. Most people will figure this bug out and use the work around by always clicking voulenteer. So in actuality this could be a good thing since my odds of getting auto balanced for volunteering is split between everyone so I probably won’t get auto balanced. However I will still get an extra 25 points. So if Anet doesn’t fix this ill just make sure to let everyone know the work around and I’ll always get an extra 25 points.

I just raised this one in regards to Dragon Ball. In DB, you get nothing for winning or for losing, other than that win credit. In PvP, however, you are earning points for your reward tracks and ranking. Is autobalancing awarding these correctly? Maybe win bonus doesn’t mean what you think it means :/

No you get less credit to your pvp track if you don’t get win bonus. the track progresses at the rate of how many points you earned from completing the pvp match. In this case it’s always hot join that we have the bug in since Unranked and ranked matches you don’t switch teams. But the win bonus for unranked/ranked is much higher and you will progress 3 times as far for winning one of those matches.
