I put in a bid for my legendary precursor and somebody bid higher than me. I decided I would wait a few days to try again to bid, but that I want my money back to do other things with for the time being. (Namely, go grab my Icy Shard thingers.) So I clicked Remove to cancel my buy order.

My buy order was for 90g11s65c. After I clicked cancel, I checked my Pick Up tab. It said the money was waiting to be picked up. I interacted with the trading post NPC & hit Take All.

Prior to collecting money, I had 19g and some assorted silver/copper on me. I’m not sure of the exact amount. Now I have 97g and some silver. 19 + 90 = 109, so I’m missing 12 gold from this transaction.

I was under the impression that these issues with the trading post had been fixed. Here are the things I’ve tried:

1) Relogging to Character Screen
2) Restarting the client completely
3) Going to another city
4) Logging in to another character and back
5) Waiting a few hours and checking again.
6) Logging onto a third character I haven’t logged in to for several days and trying to collect from the TP.

Is there anything I can do besides submit a ticket while knowing that I probably won’t be reimbursed for this bug that was no fault of my own?

After submitting a ticket and receiving feedback that’s completely un-useful, I’m still unsure of how to address this. It’s a significant portion of money to lose to a bug and from reports of other people’s resolutions, I’m SOL. Anybody have any ideas?

The trading post works on a per-transaction basis; as far as I know, there are no confirmed cases of someone only receiving some of their money from a single transaction (earlier reports of issues had to to do with user-miscalculation of fees, a specific transaction that was queued behind 70+ others, or delays in updating the log — none of these apply to your situation).

Only support can investigate this for you: they can see the system’s record of your original offer and what exact amount was returned to you. Often, however, their initial response will be a “canned” message suggesting some common work-arounds that apply to many players.

If Support is not following up on this, make sure your ticket remains open and wait for three business days. At that point, add it to the post of tickets awaiting resolution: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/account/Tickets-for-Review-3-days-and-older-merged (remember to include your ticket number and do not create new tickets).

Good luck.
