Ok a bunch of us were knocked off an island and died in the mists below.. not a big deal EXCEPT for the fact that none of us were able to use the waypoints when this happened! This effectively removes a ton of participants from the fight and causes the event to fail. I don’t understand how new patches continue to break things that weren’t broken before…

Don’t forget that attempting to waypoint, while it didn’t actually let us teleport or revive, still takes our money!

Need help my thief is stuck dead in the vines in verdant brink and the game wont allow me to way point out ive tried re starting client tried using teleport to a friend and getting no joy getting kittened now as wanted to get map completion done tonight

Encountered this bug again today during a 2:30 PM PST run of Dragon’s Stand. As usual the fear attack sent groups of players into the chasm below. People who fell were unable to return to the fight and/or claim their rewards as WPs remained broken. Furthermore, I can confirm that the WPs do indeed consume your gold and do not produce any notable effect.

The same bug happened to a friend as well during the Mouth of Mordremoth fight, where she was unable to WP after falling to her death.

It also happened to me when I went out of bounds during the post-fight Noxious Pod scramble. (If you die from standing on the Mordremoth vines in the Mushroom cave) It sounds like an out of bounds death doesn’t allow you to WP on that map (I attempted to WP to Tangled Depths though and that did work)

I can also confirm that this bug is a thing, happened to a fair few people when we were fighting MoM last night (~10am UTC). Told people to get on my squad so they could at least rejoin the map, though knowing what the megaserver system is like, I don’t think everyone was able to get back in and get their rewards…

Between the random server crashes and now this, it’s as though the showpiece metaevent in this expansion doesn’t want us to get any loot for sinking so much time into it! /s

Using the waypoint on a neighboring map will allow you to revive, but it will erase any personal progress you’ve made on the meta event causing loss of rewards.

Also, you have to endure the added humiliation of people shouting at you to use the waypoint because you’re being a leech and scaling up the boss. lol

Just was involved in the event were this happened. I was able to port to TD and back to DS during the event, killed my event participation but at least I was back until in the final kill cinematic I died along with a bunch of others as and Island exploded at the start of the tree run. I ported back to TD and then back to DS but when I tried to join the squad I kept getting connection error on any one that I could try to join. No final rewards or anything. Another wasted night in these time gated meta events.

Same exact thing. My thief is stuck and I can’t re-spawn. It’s really frustrating.

This happened to me just now, died because of the fear effect and couldn’t rez. I didn’t want to wp because it was very close to mordremoth’s demise, so lost out on all rewards and pods. Definitely not cool with such a long meta event, needs to be fixed asap.

Have the same with my Revenant in Dragon stands. I am dead and cannot move to a waypoint.

My charr ranger (Milinorosz) is dead on the moving plant roots in a big crevice at Verdant Brink. I tried to teleport to a waypoint, but my coins lost and I’m still defeated on the roots! Log-out, log-in, but still nothing… My coins lost multiple times, and I can’t play with this character. This happened yesterday and today too.

For future visitors to this thread, try using the Silverwastes waypoint. This seems to work.

How to fix:

Start up a (un)ranked match with your other alt, relog to your warrior, once the match is over you are in HotM. Then just go to GH or LA via the portal.

Same thing happened to me yesterday, endured a tragically slow and prolonged fight to fall down when island destroyed on last fight and got stuck dead in the map just as we killed Mordie. Can’t waypoint and even though I joined on another person in the map I couldn’t waypoint to resurrect and get back to collect loot or crystalline ore <——main reason for doing this thing!! Couldn’t wp to another map zone either had to relog so I could wp to another zone totally screwed over.

This happened to a bunch of us minutes ago. This NEEDS to be fixed! More than an hour of coordinating work, gone! Not to mention the inability to go back after switching maps or relogging. Anet, fix it!

I had this occur to me multiple times last night. Any deaths after the start of the Mordy fight left me unable to rez by transporting to a WP.

This includes phase where you run around collecting pods. The result is I lost contribution and time during the pod collection phase.

Given that this particular map is already gosh-darn TOO LONG to complete it now qualifies as being completely unfun to play.

Had this bug occur twice last night.

Second time I died in DS after the killing animation occurred. This resulted in me being unable to resurrect on he map. After porting to Rata Sum and back I was unable to port back to my squad to claim the reward chest as I was being given “Network error” message.

Same here. As I already wrote in another thread, this is happening since Tuesday patch. The last time I was able to succesfully finish the DS meta was Monday evening. Since the Tuesday patch, everytime I die under the Ley Islands, I am unable to ressurect at the nearest WP.
And if I ressurect on some other map and try to go back to DS map, I am not able to join my squad on right version of DS map.
The last time, I died during the ending video sequence, when MoMordremorth was already dead and I was not able to get the meta event chest, look for those Noxious Pods, do Mastery points etc. Pretty annoying…
