I got the oil from the chest, died shortly after, and on my way to the entrance i used the oil on the key and now i can’t get in, it says i need Noran’s key.

You can’t get in to the secret passage? or you can’t get into the first chest? If you have the oily key, you can go all the way to the end of the JP (with port from a friendly mesmer, if you like) and open it directly.

Unless they changed things, I was able to open the last chest using an oily key I had left over from the day before, by parking a character at the end.

This ‘bug’ has been posted a few times. It seems the Oily Key won’t work on the secret passage, only the regular key. Until this is addressed, you will have to wait a day to acquire a new regular key.
