Recently i’ve been playing Guild Wars 2 while watching movies, so I find myself turning the ingame volume down to 0 and my 2nd monitor up very loud to hear my movie. Occasionally I will hear a very loud noise being played, hard to explain the noise, but it’s sometimes a brief tone or like a clashing? type noise.
I had assumed it was from GW2 as it only occurred after I got the game, so I tested my theory by playing the game for hours with ingame volume muted – the sounds occurred, and by muting the game via windows – the sounds did not occur.
From experience the sounds appear to be unrelated to anything ingame, they can occur while im mid battle, roaming a city, or sitting idle while watching an action scene in the movie.
It’s not ‘too’ bad but when it’s late and my volume is up loud and you hear a random clash/bang noise at first it made me jump.
In conclusion;
The game client plays random, brief noises from time to time (2-3 different ones) and is not played as ingame sound, more than likely noone has noticed it as people wouldn’t normally play the game on mute for hours at a time.
Didn’t see this mentioned anywhere on the forum before (sorry if it has), just thought it would be worth a mention.
P.S, thanks for the Epic game ANet, it really was worth the years of waiting
