[BUG] Super Speed same as Swiftness
What did you do to test it?
For example, maybe it’s only PvP or only WvW or just in cities. Or only out-of-combat, but works okay in combat. (Those would be bugs in the description, if not the skill itself, but all require different sorts of fixes.)
Besides mentioning it here, next time you do test it, also use the in-game /bug reporting tool. That gives ANet additional data that they’ll need to troubleshoot.
First noticed it last night in WvW with the Squad. I was traveling at the same terrain speed as the Squad with swiftness. Once I used “Impossible Odds” and received Super Speed, I should have traveled faster than the rest of the Squad. Yet, I was still running equal to the Squad in terms of terrain speed. I’ve tested this in Divinities Reach, a Guild Hall, and in Queensdale too with the same results. Tested this with an Ele and an Engi with similar results as well.
superspeed only gives 100% speed buff while in combat (the tooltip doesn’t state this, but it has always been the case). pretty sure out of combat it only gives 33%
| 61 Asura | 5 Charr | 2 Norn | 1 Human | 1 Sylvari |
or, the 33% of swiftness is actually 100%. Which means this is just a horrid description of a skill. I mean, if swiftness is 33% and Super Speed is 100%, then it should go faster, right????
editing to add yes, it only increases speed in combat beyond what regular swiftness would do because 33% hit the cap too. Bleeping tool tip math is fudged.

Not a bug.
There is a movement speed cap equal to about 36% of out-of-combat base speed. Even with a larger speed boost, you can’t run faster than that. With Superspeed, you’ll run 136% speed as opposed to a Swiftness player’s 133%, which is barely noticeable. In-combat you can use almost all of Superspeed’s movement bonus before hitting the movement speed cap, so you’ll move much faster than you would with Swiftness alone.
