Hello everyone,
Yesterday i crafted Elegant Armorsmith’s backpack, I chose berserker stats for it but the problem is that I can’t insert any upgrade into it. I tried with crests, jewels and I really don’t know what’s going on.

You have to use an upgrade component of level 78 or lower. It’s not a level 80 backpack.

you are putting level 80 items in a level 78 item…

The game isn’t clear but that is the issue. It’s not a bug because that level 78 item has higher stats than a level 80. Even with the lower level upgrades put in, the difference in points is minor. And if you could put level 80 upgrades in, that backpack I think would have higher stats than an ascended one (perhaps not, far too late for me to figure out the difference but it would definitely be higher stats than any other level 80 exotic backpiece)

I noticed it fast because we had a similar issue I think 2 years ago, where we were given an item that wasn’t level 80 and couldn’t upgrade it and it confused us all for a while until one of us figured it out. And know that you aren’t alone in getting frustrated with that, but the difference is so minor that it’s still a very good investment

Actually, with a level 65 embellished jewel in the upgrade slot, the crafting backpacks have a very slightly higher main stat and equal secondary stats to a normal exotic level 80 back item with a level 80 exotic upgrade.

With embellished yes. I’m not sure how it downscales being level 78, probably would end up only equivalent to level 80 at lower levels, either way it works out very well and a lot more convenient since it’s account bound

exotic level 80 with exquisite jewel:

Main stat: 47
Secondary stats: 31

exotic level 78 with lv 65 crystal/medallion
Main stat: 46
Secondary stats: 28

exotic level 78 with lv 65 embellished jewel
Main stat: 53
Secondary stats: 31

edit: Wanted to thank Gudy for clarifying on that, because I wasn’t thinking of embellished when I wrote the prior post. Even more reason to use the crafted.
