Guild Wars 2

This seems to have been an existing problem since the April relase, as shown in posts such as this < https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Book-of-Secrets >.

The issue is that ascended back pieces, such as the ‘Book of Secrets’, ‘Light of Dwayna’, and ‘Shadow of Grenth’ are still not available as unlockable skins to those who create them, or even just to preview in the Wardrobe system. Seeing as it has been a few months, I am wondering why this has not been addressed. The ‘Chaos of Lyssa’ is present, as well as the ascended Spinal Blade back pieces, so it is clearly not an issue of all ascended back pieces not being allowed.

Even the wiki (http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Book_of_Secrets) has the bug text written: “There is no option to unlock this skin and it doesn’t appear in the wardrobe.” I hope this is addressed soon, as I would like to make some of these pieces, but I do not want to think about making them multiple times with how much time and gold that would cost.

(I’m not sure if this is a bug as well, or just something to do with my using firefox.)]

I’ve been following this issue for a while now. In the case of the Book of Secrets, the item’s skin id points at a bad entry, or seemingly so from the data I can get out of the API. This isn’t true with Shadow of Grenth or Light of Dwayna, as they both have the correct values set and the skins are coming up in the API. Overall, something different is up.

Thanks Sariel, I appreciate the information and the link. I’m sure that information will help developers fix these bugs.

I can confirm as of 5PM Eastern Standard Time, that the “Light of Dwayna”, “Shadow of Grenth”, and a new item, “Mysterious Vine” are available in the Wardrobe. The “Book of Secrets” however is still missing for the moment.

Have there been any posts from ANet representatives about this and similar items since the initial weeks of the wardrobe release in April? Just curious.

No, nothing I’m afraid. :/ There have been fixes to item data (spelling/name adjustments, new icons), but for the most part, this issue has been untouched.

From what I pulled down two weeks ago, it would appear that they DID fix the problem for Rogue Helms, and that’s it. I think that a bug ticket may have been entered based on the title of the post, and the dev tasked with fixing it didn’t read any further into the post itself.
