Q:

My husband built me a gaming PC, we played GW2 just fine for about 6 months, then that computer was tasked out to something else and I am no longer able to game on it. so he built me another one. Ever since GW2 has crashed anywhere from 2 minutes to 80 minutes into the game – without fail. The typical errors are:

We have replaced the graphics card (from a Radeon 7800 to the Radeon 6700 from the former PC), turned down the performance settings, deleted and re-installed the client, wiped the hard drive and performed a virgin install on a brand new hard drive … and the game still crashes … what are we missing – or is this something on the client/server end? I would trust the programmers to be working on this, but like I said AND as you can see in bold, this is a recurring problem.

I attempted to attach the crash.dmp but we aren’t allowed to post .dmp files and I am unaware of where to find or generate a .log file.

here are the system specs according to Speccy

and yes I know there are three separate reasons for crashing, but the bone constraints is the most frequent.

the last three crashes occurred when the character was standing completely still at the entrance to the “Hidden Arcana” story instance immediately east of the Priory Archives POI in Lornars Pass

I wouldn’t advice you to post the full log anyhow, it may contain some personal info (IP address, username and stuff) as well it may be too long for posting here.

Log files would be usually at “C:\Users\<your_username>\AppData\Roaming\Guild Wars 2\ArenaNet.log”.

I would suggest repairing the game, but I see you already have done that. Does it happen specifically at a certain place or doing certain actions, or is it completely at random? I have never see that error myself but I would suppose it’s related to character model or something.
