Is it just me or are some of us having a glitch with the balloon chests where as soon as you get to the last flight of stairs, the chest opens on its own and you cannot open it or receive any loot? I didnt have this issue yesterday though

I am 100% sure I have not opened the chest on the character or from any other character.

I’m getting this bug too. I’ve only opened the chest near the Altar Brook Trading Post and now the one by Eldvin Monastery opens as I run to the top.

I had this bug yesterday in Kessex hills. I opened one tower went to the other and the chest was open already.

I’m getting it too, but only in Queensdale so far… I’ve tried restarting, but it hasn’t been openable in two days now.

I’ve had this bug twice. In some zones, this doesn’t happen, but in Queensdale and one of the Norn regions, I had this problem. It’s going to make it much harder to get that achievement if this keeps happening – because the chest doesn’t count towards the number you need.

Same here – I’ve been having this problem in Queensdale for two days now.

I’m also having the same prob. I haven’t went after all the balloons, but the one in Queensdale is bugged for me as well. I don’t know what it is, because I’ve tried the event on a few different characters and it never works. I’ve even guested on other servers and it still not work. But at the same time I see others go up to the chest and loot from it, so I don’t know what it is.

I lost a chest out in Queensdale yesterday when I started it.

Yes, I complained about this but the GM seemed to know nothing about it and told me to stand by the chest and raise a ticket. No help for those missed though.

Anet REALLY needs to fix this. I refuse to do any more balloons until they fix it. I kill everything, do what I’m supposed to, but I get to the chest and it’s already open and I have no option to access it. This has happened EVERYWHERE and I’m completely sick of it.

This has happen to me every balloon I tried today and yesterday.

What servers/worlds are all of you on that are experiencing it with many chests in many towers?

So far servers/worlds I have heard that are having this widespread issue of chests appearing opened upon visiting for the first time are:

Regarding the issue of two towers in Queensdale reading as being the same tower. Opening the chest at one causes the other to be opened as well but only counts as 1 tower for achievement. Same issue in Wayfarer Foothills. This separate issue seems to be game-wide, and not world specific.

And for me at least it also does not update the balloon achievement either.

I’ve seen this but it could be a bug or that you’d gotten the chest on another char. It’s happened to me yesterday and the day before. I’ve also completed that event. I’ll see if it does it on another character (same account) that hasn’t been doing any or very few of them and see if its open on her in an area I know she hasn’t been to balloons.
