The second tower I tried to climb (the one in western Queensdale) I got halfway up then suddenly bam I’m on the bottom again and the gate is now closed. The merchant directed me to the Overdue guy, so I went and escorted him back. The gate opened up and when I got to the top, not only was the chest already open, but I got no credit for the achievement. My tower count still read 1 from the earlier tower I had gotten.

I think the bug occurs if you are in the middle of climbing the tower when the Overdue event kicks in.

ETA: The 2 other guys who finished the escort with me both got the chest and the achievement credit. They had not been with me when the event kicked off.

if a overdue event is happening you will warp to the bottom if you dont talk to the NPC and do the event.

If you do the event and the chest is already open .. it mean that you previously opened this chest .. you can’t open twice the same chest .. find another Tower to do. I think you can still do the event for the karma .. but the chest is a one time use.

I experienced this bug as well. When I went to open the 2nd tower, the chest was already open and I did not get credit. I tried it 3 times, with both escort and champion defeat missions. This is in fact a bug!

I guarantee that this tower was not the first and only one I had visited prior.

That particular tower is just broken(maybe only for some people).
