I usually run the game at 30+ FPS, but whenever I enter these VERY specific areas, my FPS instantly drops to 5-10. Reproducing is easy. Just go there

Bandithaunt Caverns : https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/bugs/Extremely-low-FPS-in-Bandithaunt-Caverns/first#post146309

Tribulation Rift jumping puzzle: The area is much, much, smaller than Bandithaunt Caverns. This only takes place in the area where players must fight the Earth Elemental and his minions. The elemental himself has no impact on FPS. I go from ~50 FPS to ~10 in the specific area in front of me, and it immediately gets fixed when I leave. In the screenshot, I am standing at the line between good and bad FPS. A few steps in front of my me my FPS drops.

If there are any players that have this kind of problem in any specific area, post here and I will add your post to the OP! Remember: the issue isn’t about generally low FPS, but only in very specific areas!

Caer Evermore in Timberline Falls has low fps, it’s the fog effect in particular that’s causing this for me there.

I just entered the Bandithaunt Caverns and fps dropped to 5. The first time this happened, I thought it was because my laptop wasn’t good enough to run this game. It wasn’t until a couple of minutes ago when people were complaining about it. The problem seems to be that the bombs that sparkle keep spawning over and over on top of each other. Tons of bombs everywhere with the sparkly effect are killing our fps.

Please, fix them.

Same for me when it comes to Bandithaunt Caverns. But it was my first time today with fps drop. I have been there before where everything went smootly.

I can directly confirm this. The bombs are not fading and are stacking to rediculous proportions. So every time a player breaks a barrel you get another permanent bomb. The tiny sparkle that a single bomb has becomes a towering inferno of sparkles 6 feet high.

To further confirm this I spent 10 minutes straight merely placing bombs one after another and had help at one time. That is how much it took to get to the bottom of one stack. So I have tested this. Seeing as this was the only bomb stack of any magnitude near the Bandit LT champion I was able to improve FPS in that room noticeably with removal of the stack.

Easiest fix for the bandithaunt caverns is to put a 5 minute timer on the bombs so that they disappear on their own. If a player doesn’t use it in 5 minutes he doesn’t want it.

The bandit cave in the human starting area does this to me. It worked fine for my other character but I came through with a new character and it was weird how my fps drop soon as I get into the cave and clears when I come out.

There’s supposedly a runaway respawn with the exploding barrels, stacking millions of them on top of each other. It has been reported many times before, as far as I can tell.

Hello All,

I’m not sure if this is condiered a bug or not, or just something went haywire during your updates or whatnot. But this is getting ridiculous now, and has happened way more then it should have. I’m talking of course about the Bandithaunt Caverns in Queensdale. Every so often we get some “new” updates, and this place becomes unbearable to enter, even if you’re trying to do the “Heart” there to kill the Bandits, and I know I’m certainly not the only one who experiences this. What am I talking about? The terrible framerate drop, where my game suddenly goes from 100+ fps, and drops literally below 30.

This seems to be reoccurring with you ArenaNet. One day it’s fine, nothing drops, and suddenly an update hits, and BAM, the framerate’s in the most random places which used to be fine before makes the area’s almost unplayable.

As I said, this isn’t just happening to me as I play with friends all the time while on GW 2, and they have the exact same problem.

Not sure if this is a bug or not, but it’s probably worth checking out.

I have the same problem. I play on Gate of Madness (not sure if playing on a crowded server is a factor) and my FPS was 2 at one point, even on low graphical settings.

While you are at it – check Groznev Delve in Frostgorge Sound, i had a noticeable drop in fps there (and only there) for some unknown reason.

The bombs that spawn from the “Bandit Supplies” that can be destroyed for heart completion don’t despawn. This causes them to be stacked on top of each other to the point that they actually cause graphic lag when you enter the cave while it loads in dozens and dozens of bombs in the area. It’s bad enough that I go from 60FPS outside the cave to about 10 while inside.

I just spent 15 minutes trying to destroy all of the bombs in a single stack and there were still enough left to cause the sparkle aura that objects give off to look like a camp fire.

Thanks, I’m looking into it, though I don’t expect the fix to go Live until the next major content update.
