926 prec -> 4.0% crit chance.
1000 prec -> 7.5% crit chance.
As per the formula here:
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Precision
With no gear, attrib panel is only showing 4.0% crit chance with the new base 1000 prec.

I have 4.0%.
You probably have something giving you 3.5% extra. What’s the utility effect?

no. I don’t have something extra.
- see screenshot.
- Also see the wiki link to precision.
~ 1000 base prec we should have 7.5% crit chance, not 4.0%
I see your ninja edit. There are ( as far as I know) no utility items that LOWER crit chance.

I believe they must have normalized it.
Precision – 841.xxx – 74 (which is the difference from 1000 to 926) / 21.xxx
It makes 4%.
Tested with 1090 precision, and It shows 8.28% in my panel, and it works with the formula, so I believe they did that.
I think they wanted it to stay at 4% for the base precision.
The real issue is why we even have base precision.

So we “gained” base prec, only to have it be completely useless anyway?
I sincerely hope not, as that would very much suck.
edit:
It looks like we are running at base 4.0%
Which still seems wrong since we “gained” 74 base precision, which is doing essentially nothing.

They nerfed crit chance yet again. Atleast mention that you guys have changed the formula in the patch notes.
Stealth nerf to power (zerk) builds.
- we gained +74 precision with the base attribute changes, however they kept the base critical chance at 4% (meaning they gave us 74 pts and it didn’t do anything at all)
- more importantly, when you’re downleveled your critical chance is nerfed even more than before
real ingame values -
2,202 precision use to be 71.76% critical chance
2,202 precision now gives 68.23% critical chancethe ingame values for when you’re downleveled are harder to get because the display values and the tooltip values are completely bugged
Yep and the worst thing is that they haven’t mentioned it anywhere regarding this. Kinda like trying to fool the mass by saying they buffed base stats to 1,000 yet didn’t change the crit chance.
