For a while now I’ve noticed that my offline status has randomly been switched to online without any interaction by me. It happens when I log in, or when I alt-tab the game.

Have you tried a -repair of the client, or clearing the GW2 cache?

No, doing the – repair did not work still randomly being set to online… though I do have a theory. Seems to happen mostly when someone on my friends list or guild is online? Maybe something is happening there?

That doesn’t help. I have encountered this bug a million times already myself. Most times, it happens when you select switch character, then decide to select the same char as before. But not all of the time. Or when you enter the character menu after launching the game, then select a character very quickly. The error is definitely connected to character select/switch.

Or, something else. I never encounter this ‘bug’, and I select characters all the time.

Thus, it may be difficult for the Devs to pin down.
