Today I checked the Black Lion Trading Company to see if any of the five exotic items I had listed yesterday had sold; I noticed that there was 0 copper listed under “Trade Profit”, so I figured they hadn’t. “Well,” I thought, "perhaps they’re priced too high. So I had a look at “My Transactions/Items I’m Selling”. To my surprise, I only saw three of the five exotics listed there; perhaps I had been mistaken, perhaps I had not in fact listed them after all. So I checked my bags, my bank, my other characters, and didn’t find them.

And then I looked under “My Transactions/Items I’ve Sold”. There they were, indicating that they had sold “seconds ago”. Well, then where was my gold?

I decided to investigate. In the following video, you can see that after successfully selling an item, “Trade Profit” still indicates 0 copper, the item is no longer in my inventory, and a listing fee of 3 copper (which is inconsistent with the indicated listing fee of 4 copper) has been deducted from my wallet.

So the Black Lion Trading Post ate my money. I don’t know how long this has been happening, or how much I’ve lost because of it. Furthermore, I don’t know what to do with the rest of the items that are still listed for sale, because if I remove them, I will forfeit the listing fee I’ve already paid; if they sell, I lose everything.

This is really disappointing, and I’d like to see it fixed as soon as possible; additionally, I believe I am due compensation for my loss.

It’s due to all the leather (and maybe other stuff further down on that list as well?) you haven’t picked up. It treats each transaction individually and will only show some number of the oldest not-picked-up orders fulfilled. Each transaction of gold is also treated separately, so just like anything you bought, it’s thrown that queue waiting for room in the pick-up tab.

Withdraw the leather and the gold will show up, as it should still be in a queue, waiting to be added to the pick-up tab.

This is indeed correct; upon withdrawing the leather, the gold showed up. What a confusing system.
