The Block List / Ignore function has been broken since release.
If you ignore someone, you can still read their /emote messages. This occasionally causes awkward situations.

Additionally, trolls can shout from behind the safety of an ignore list.
If X ignores Y, X can still shout profanities at Y. The moment you decide to block someone, the game should instantly prohibit communication altogether to prevent further trolling from occurring.

Figured I might as well report it for a fifth or so time.

Even worse is that people you have blocked can see what map you are on, whether you are online or not, and everything else (unless you set invisible). I have witnessed a few case of in-game stalking that were not solved by a block.

Block is too broken to be useful in its current state.

Thank you for that addition. I’d forgotten all about the fact that indeed, a person you have blocked can still put you on their friend list to keep an eye on your comings and goings.

Whilst the few people I have blocked are either bots or rude people I do not wish to run into in dungeons again and the sort, it is an unsettling thought that someone much worse might be able to “stalk” you without you ever realising.

The Block list has been buggy since release, and I think it’s about time this broken feature gets addressed. From wallet to wardrobe, the addition of the LFG tool and so forth, all has been fixed or is on the to-do list: time to add this one to that.

Are you completely sure about being able to read their /emote messages in chat?

A dear friend of mine asked me to block him to see if I could see/read his emotes, and while I was still able to see the animation, the emote message did not appear in my chat.
This was a few months ago.

There is a difference between something being broken and not working exactly how YOU want it to. If you want the feature changed, there is a suggestion forum.

I have to agree with whoever said the blocked, but still “friend”. for some reason, I keep getting messages from a bot and every single time it happens I place them into “block”, but then the next day the usser has a new character name and then I have to place that one into “block” (and repeat). It was then that I found out that I was being “followed” by them when they placed me as “friend”. It’s nice that I now know who’s has me on their friend’s list, but it would be MORE helpful to stop the trolling/stalking if there was a deny frend’s request. I know it’s not a bug, but just because someone pointed it out I wanted to expand on their point. Otherwise, I have to go to everyone on the “follow” list and ask them to remove me as a friend. sort of a pain when a few of them are bots, always offline, or just want to stalk you.

being able to remove (or request to remove) a follower is a very good SUGGESTION but Devs don’t watch this forum for suggestions.

Interesting. At the very least there needs to be a sticky in that folder explaining why you can’t start a new topic and/or how you submit a suggestion…..

Sorry for sounding snippy, I had no idea the Suggestion forum was blocking new topics.

EDIT: OH…..that forum has been Archived (which explains why it’s locked for new posts). Why and how you submit a suggestion is still not clear.
