Is actually a bug with their healing ability, but yeah that’s the reason.
for the record, mindless dps is pointless when it comes to this and not paying atention to the mechanics. so i would think this is a good bug even though its one none the less. it forces people to pay atention instead of letting it happen.

Having a randomly spawning group of mobs that is not part of the event able to instantly heal the boss to full from any HP is sort of… silly to say the least.
It’d be okay if it was like the Jungle Wurm world boss in that it only healed a set %, but a full heal feels like a bit much.
Full heals is wonderful, if you were paying atention to the menders it wouldnt have happened. its a good mechanic and i think they should do more penalties like this because it forces people to react or fail.
Wait so if the menders get too close they heal it back up to 100%? Is this seriously intended?
EDIT: Could we please get confirmation from a dev that this is as intended. It went from 25% health to an instant 100%. Never saw any ‘menders’ actually but then again my culling was turned way down and I didn’t know to look for them.
Also, this only happens with the blue one? Once everyone gave up on the blue we all ran to the red and there were no menders at all.

Until we get confirmation either way, this is still doable in the meantime: we had spotters call out menders on our overflow and they were killed before they could heal the knight.
The run after that I just kept an eye on the spot towards the eastern edge of Lion’s Court where they spawn, and every time they popped I ran over there and distracted them alone. Once they agg on someone they won’t continue heading towards the boss and can be safely taken care of outside of healing range.

Thanks Mafetix that does help. I guess since I was in overflow no one mentioned anything about ‘menders’ so I had no idea they were even there.
Is this a mechanic of only the blue one though? This all being so new there’s very little information circulating about the specific mechanics of each knight.
I don’t really have a problem with this mechanic now that I know it exists (I like that it forces you to be aware of more than the boss) just assumed like everyone else in that overflow that it was a bug. I still don’t remember seeing any ‘menders’ but again I didn’t know to look.

No problem, and I’ve only seen it happen at blue. The overflow I was on didn’t notice menders or have healing issues at red or green, so it seemed to us that blue was the only boss where menders periodically patrolled.
(Edited previous post: I wrote western instead of eastern. Hurrr. They spawn at the eastern edge.)

Just killed the blue (we killed the other two) and no resetting so I don’t know if we got lucky or someone killed the menders. Anyway it was bugged so no Scarlet afterwards but I think they hotfixed it now. We’ll see…
Not sure if it’s related to the issue of this thread but I thought about mention it:
