I noticed when the Centaur catapults attack hits it lets off this long poorly rendered graphical dust cloud that has caused my PC to drop FPS. I hope I’m not the only one with this issue.

Nope. When the fire elemental appears I get a slight but noticable drop in framerate.

But the dust cloud of the Centaur catapults is THE ONLY graphic effect in the ENTIRE game that really drops the framerate down to a stutter. Massive zergs and all the graphic effects are nothing compared to ONE Centaur catapult hit.

Weird, that is the reverse for me. I can also get my engineer’s grenades to do it but not consistently.

Some separatists fired a catapult at me a few days ago… FPS dropped to like 9-12 for this ugly looking dust cloud then returned to normal. I waited a bit and it fired again… there was no effect whatsoever, the rock just disappeared when it hit the ground.

I know this is a oldish thread but since it was revived recently I’d like to add to this issue.

I noticed it today when I was in Harathi doing the Scarlet event. Of course there is a lot of factors that could have made my fps lower then normal. But those centaur catapults totally dropped my fps at least 15-20 frames as soon as the dust came out. I had never had the issue ever before. It literally went to a halt for like 5 seconds after it happened then went back to normal.

I went back there later when the event was gone and it was a lot calmer and it still caused some fps drop. Still very noticeable. Even if it was like 5 seconds max.

I run everything on high mostly. With shadows down to low. With the recent culling change I could run with everything high but I found it was more comfortable to run with amount of people viewed to medium, textures still high.
