this is similar to when the character is in auto run (r /numlock) but they will do this on their own, and in random directions (side ways, backwards, forwards, etc)

I actually have had this happen.. even weirder is last night my husband and my character did this in the same direction at the same time.. no there was no fear or knockback. It happened in Honor of the Waves story mode and he actually went off the ledge because of it.

This happened to me and sent to to a lava death the other night. I was running sideways and couldn’t stop.

It happened while I was typing in chat too, so couldn’t possibly have been pressing any movement buttons. And when I quickly ended my chat to try and stop the movement I couldn’t.

Does anyone know why this happens? It has happened to me on many occasions, just walking to a certain place or battling some bandits and my character just starts walking in random directions.

I’ve had this happen maybe 3-4 times in recent memory, and it’s frankly really hard to deal with. I can easily see how it might lead to an environmental death.

In my experience it seems to be a very specific direction, most commonly as if I were pressing forward and right strafe at the same time. What’s really odd however, is how much I have to fight in the opposite direction to get my character to just stop moving.

I’ve tried moving in the same direction to see if it was simply jammed input of some kind, but it seems to still do it for a while.
