Has anyone else noticed that Fear is no longer interrupting skills?

I use it on my Warrior PvP build to clear points or interrupt kills.

Can a Developer comment on if this was an intentional change?

And I’m afraid you won’t get anything out of Arenanet about this.
As we’ve commented, some patches ago they changed fear to make it consistent with conditions and not clasify it as a stun any more. Counting as one of them, not as the other any more.
It was a meditated decission, so I doubt they’re just going to revert it “because”.

My ranger has a trait that pulls conditions off of me immediately and slaps it on my pet instead. It only triggers once every 90 seconds though. Often times, fear will not work on me (the first time around, but my pet goes running off), and other conditions such as cripple, or a knockback.

When I’m doing my finishing move on a downed player, they try and time it so I am mid-animation when they pop their fear, or guardian bubble knock back, but instead my pet will become feared or knocked back and I will remain unaffected.

I came back to GW2 a couple of weeks ago after one year break.

First thing I noticed when running dungeons and fractals is fear does not work as interrupt anymore.

I have searched the forum but only got discussion about perplexity rune OP.
So is this a bug or did they remove the interrupt from fear by purpose?

So was interrupt removed from fear skills by intention?
Because this was possibly the most important ‘side-effect’ of those skills.
Now they are kind of useless except for few occasions :/

If you want to search back through the Game Bug sub-forum, there is a Dev response to this issue on or around August 19th.

I did search in this forum before creating this thread but could not find any official statement.

I searched again right now but either got 19+ pages as a result of searching in this forum for ‘fear’ or no result at all when being more specific.
I have also read until the 4th page of google search results for the terms ‘fear’ and ‘interrupt’ narrowed only in this forum but could not find any official statement.
I searched in the release notes but the search function in this forum brought up 0 (zero) results for the word ‘fear’.
I even tried to find and read all the posts around August 19th manually.

I have spent about an hour to find this official statement which seems not to be part of the release notes.
